Eating cuy (Guinea pig)

Eating Guinea pig in Ecuador

The guinea pig also known as cavy is despite their common name not native to Guinea, nor are they closely biologically related to pigs, and the origin of the name is still unclear. They originated in the Andes of South America and they were originally domesticated as livestock, as a source of food, and continue to be. I can’t say it was very tasty but it was a good meal. It was very greasy. That’s why I got gloves on while eating. Let’s have a look in the kitchen.
